1. PRODUCTION & DISPATCH TIMELINE
Orders are processed and shipped after full payment has been received and confirmed.
In-Stock Objects
Smaller objects and select pieces that are in stock will ship within 5-10 business days from confirmation.
Made-to-Order Pieces
Most ALVAR SAKARI furniture and lighting pieces are made-to-order. Production timelines typically range from 4-10 weeks, depending on scale and materiality. Estimated lead times are provided upon enquiry.
2. SHIPPING METHODS
We use reliable, insured carriers and, for larger items, freight or white-glove delivery partners (as available for your region).
– Small objects: shipped via insured couriers (e.g., Posti, DHL, Matkahuolto)
– Furniture or larger pieces: shipped via one of our preferred carriers
– International shipping: shipped via insured international carriers with tracking
Shipping costs are calculated upon enquiry unless otherwise stated.
Delivery estimates will vary by destination.
You will be informed of approximate delivery windows when you place your order.
3. SHIPPING METHODS & DUTIES
Shipping fees depend on item size, weight, and destination. These fees are clearly provided before you confirm payment.
For international deliveries outside the EU, customs duties, VAT, and import charges may apply upon arrival in the destination country. These are not included in your order and are the responsibility of the recipient.
4. PACKAGING & CARE
ALVAR SAKARI products are packaged with protection suited to the material and scale of the piece – including crates for large furniture when necessary. Our materials are chosen to minimize damage in transit and to be responsibly sourced where possible.
5. INSPECTION UPON DELIVERY
Please inspect your delivery immediately:
– If external packaging appears damaged, note this on the delivery receipt.
– Open the package carefully and inspect the piece.
Report any damages, defects, or incorrect items within 14 days of delivery. This helps us resolve the issue quickly (in line with general consumer law obligations in Finland and the EU).
6. RETURNS & CANCELLATION RIGHTS
Consumer Rights (Finland & EU Law)
If you are purchasing as a private consumer, you have a 14-day statutory right to cancel your order once you have received the goods – under Finnish and EU distance selling rules.
This applies unless a legal exception is triggered (e.g., certain custom-made products).
Conditions for exercising this right:
– Notify us in writing within 14 days.
– Return the item unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition.
– You are responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise stated
Custom or uniquely made pieces may be excluded from return (as allowed under EU consumer law)
7. DAMAGED OR LOST SHIPMENTS
If your item is damaged during transport, or is lost:
– Notify us immediately with photos and details
– We will coordinate with the carrier and arrange a replacement or compensation where applicable.
